Feeling Festive in Sherborne

The Festive Shopping day on 2nd December was fantastic. It was wonderful to meet so many people and the atmosphere was definitely one of Christmas cheer. A huge thank you to the Chamber of Commerce and all the volunteers for their hard work in making the day possible. Our stall was busy from the very start and the feedback from everyone was incredibly positive. As we have seen time and time again, from the very first public consultation held in the Digby Hall in March 2017, there is overwhelming support for The Paddock Project from the public, the schools, businesses and our own MP. We cannot tell you how much your support means to us, thank you.

Sherborne Town Council Planning Committee met on 3rd December and discussed The Paddock Project. All the Councillors apart from one supported the concept of this gallery on this site and have requested that it is considered by West Dorset District Council Development Control Committee. We welcome this request and are expecting to hear that planning has been approved in Spring 2019.

Thank you to everyone who has commented on our application, there is still time to review our plans and make any comments by clicking here. The closing date for comments is 23rd December.

Our Board continues to expand and we are thrilled that Camilla Graham has accepted our invitation to become a Trustee. Camilla has lived in the Sherborne area with her family for 32 years and has recently retired from a long career at The Victoria and Albert Museum in London. As Head of Events, she organised both corporate events and private views for the museum’s very busy exhibition and development programme.

We are looking forward to 2019 and starting the construction of this wonderful new gallery for Sherborne and wish you all a very merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year.

See you in 2019!
